Abstract

Living in exile since the age of 9, Manushi Yami Bhattarai, now 23, is back in the political chaos of Kathmandu, Nepal to carry on the legacy of her parents in the Maoist party. The film DAUGHTER OF NEPAL explores Manushi's childhood years through poignant correspondence with her parents, her politics, and her dream of creating a new Nepal. The filmmaker Surbhi Dewan writes here about her experiences during the making of this documentary film.
