Interpersonal conflict in the workplace: Revenge, forgiveness and reconciliation

In this paper we use a dyadic-level approach to examine revenge, forgiveness, and reconciliation as responses to an interpersonal offense in the workplace. In so doing, we draw on the literature from management, social psychology, marital therapy, and theology to develop a model that illustrates the role that both victims and perpetrators play in this process. This model also shows how individual-level choices regarding revenge, forgiveness and reconciliation shape the nature of the dyadic-level relationship.
