Abstract

This written thesis documents the information used and applied in the process of creating the "Images in Felt" body of work. The document begins with a forward which briefly discusses personal history, and then is followed by the remainder of the paper which is broken up into three seperate parts. The first part is entitled "History of Felt". This section contains relevant historical and present day facts about felt, as well as information on the Bedouin cultures that have used simple textile techniques throughout history. The second part, entitled "Thesis Techniques", describes the various processes used in the making of the body of work. This leads to the final chapter, entitled "Images in Felt : The Body of Work", which discusses each of the felted pieces of this body of work in both technical and conceptual aspects.
