Abstract

Most people desire to succeed. Even though every person may have a different standard of success, it is necessary to succeed in order to be satisfied with our lives. We also need to value our experiences. For example, a concept called the "10,000 hours rule" has been introduced in a book titled Outlier. According to this concept, anyone can excel at something if he or she chooses to spend 10,000 hours on it. Actually, one should not just spend this time but use it to be passionately and actively involved. The Beatles embodied such commitment. Before they became famous, they played in Hamburg, Germany, roughly 1,200 hours over 2 years, and they often played 8 hours straight at a time. John Lennon remarked that with this strategy, they acquired courage and became more accomplished. Without this experience, it would have been hard for them to become so successful and famous.
