This paper is a continuation of the work of Bercovici-Foias-Tannenbaum [BFTBga, BFT89b, BFT9OI on interpolation problems were the interpolating functiom are bounded not in norm but in spectral radius or Structured singular valua. Thue problew wiw naturally in the robust control of sye tuns with structured uncertainty. Here we extend our structured matrix Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation theory to the (one-sided) tangeqtial case. The complete structured (two-sided) tangential interpolation theory will be presented elsewhere. With these results, we have laid the groundwork for a rigorous analytic procedure for p-synthesis.
