Yatao was born in Beijing, China and is currently pursuing his MFA in film production at RIT. “I decided to make a period war film as my thesis,” says Yatao. “My work focuses on humanity, as I believe that humanity will shine in times of war.”

Film Synopsis: A Chinese farmer witnesses atrocities committed by the Japanese army in a neighboring village and tries to save his family and his neighbors. Unfortunately, his father dies at night and they get caught the day after. What can he do to save his daughter?
