Abstract

The thermal conductivity of an insulation material varies parabolically with the rise in temperature. Therefore, to get the appropriate value of the thermal conductiv9ity of a material by the guarded hot plate method, recommended by most standards bodies including ISI, the authors advocate adoption of an upper limit on the value of temperature difference between the hot and cold plate.
